How could it have possibly come to this?
He lay on his side, his back turned to her, and stared at the far wall, his heart and mind in torment. Ever since he had brought her home from the hospital after that horrible night when he had almost lost her, he would curl up beside her and wrap his arms around her. She would turn into him, welcoming his embrace, and fall asleep listening to his heartbeat, her hand resting comfortingly over his chest. It had been the only way he could fall asleep: with her nestled in his arms, where he was sure she was safe.
Now, three years later, she lay as far from him as she could - in truth he was surprised sh
Smile
It was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Three long years of pain, duplicity, and death, and the first thing he saw when he walked back through the doors of 221B Baker Street was her smile. Why she was there he could only guess, and he never guessed, but the whys and wherefores didn't matter. As soon as she heard the door open and turned to face him, that small smile tugging almost unwillingly at the corner of her mouth had been all he knew. Even the broken jaw he received when his best friend knocked him flat barely registered, because she was there, and her smile made it all worthwhile.
He spent the next two years doing eve
"It's done."
Two words. Just two words. Two small words and they turned her world upside down.
Molly Hooper spun around, her white lab coat flying around her, her eyes wide and brimming with tears even before she saw him. But see him she did, standing tall behind her, his Belstaff and scarf a sight so familiar and yet so foreign...
She took a deep, shuddering breath. "They're all safe? There's no one left?" she asked. She didn't need to clarify who.
Sherlock nodded. "Yes," he whispered. "You're safe. No one can hurt you now."
Molly frowned at his choice of words. "'You're safe?'" she asked. "What do you mean?"
Sherlock sighed. "They wer
As they entered the Chantry, they were greeted by Sister Patrice, and after a short confrontation she disclosed that her guard's judgment had slipped and told them where to find him. "Screams trap if you ask me" Sebastian asked as he rounded the corner. "Of course it is, you going to try your luck with it too?" She asked with a smile, fully hoping he'd smile back, which he did. And once again a wave of warmth caressed her.
"Oh, Hawke? Aveline had stopped by earlier. She has been wanting to see you. It sounded important, maybe you should pay her a visit when we are done if it's not too late." Sebastian suggested as he followed behind her. The
Several weeks had gone by since they had made it to Kirkwall and Rem was beginning to feel restless. Her friends visited her daily and she finally began to feel more at home. "Bodhan?" Rem called from the library where she had been going over the various different requests that had accumulated over the last couple weeks. "Do you know how long this message from the Viscount has been here?" she asked as she was rubbing her temple. "I believe that arrived just the other day. I believe your companions here went to investigate it but I don't know for sure, Lady Hawke" said Bodhan in his fatherly tone.
As Rem twisted in her chair to stretch she sa
It was late when he was finally leaving Rem's estate to head to the Hanged Man, and Fenris couldn't even think of words to describe how exhausted he was. The last thing he wanted to do was to recite all the events that have gone on for the last two weeks but it has to be done he thought with a sigh.
As he stared at the door to the Hanged Man Fenris started to let his mind wander, who was going to take it the worst? Isabella should be fine with it, she didn't seem especially loyal. Varric is very loyal to Hawke, he was going to take it hard but he should understand what they went through to save her.. but in the end he faile

Fenris woke up when he felt Rem start to struggle in her arms. "No stop please don't hurt him I'll do anything ." She mumbled in her sleep. Fenris' couldn't help his shock when he heard what she said.. he could feel how tight her muscles were. "Rem Shhh everything is okay." He whispered to her as he held her close. What was she dreaming of? Rem he thought with a frown which soon turned to anger as his thoughts went to Denarius. Fenris cursed him from the depths of his soul for hurting her, to cause these nightmares for her to now live with. There was no place in his heart for mercy now.
